Characters
The Moominvalley residents
It’s a marvellous valley, full of happy little creatures and blossoming trees. A clear, narrow river flows down from the mountains, winds around the blue Moominhouse, and then vanishes into the neighbouring lands, where other creatures wonder where it came from.

Films and Music
The Moomins have also charmed us on the silver screen and the turntable. Here are a couple of examples:
Moomin and Midsummer Madness
This animated film, which was made at the turn of the 80s, is based on Tove Jansson’s book Moomin and Midsummer Madness.
Everyone loves Moomin animations
Many people have first encountered the Moomins through an animated TV series that was made in Japan in 1989. Dennis Livson produced the series, and the first episodes were shown in Finland and Japan in 1990.
Benny Törnroos’ Moomin songs
Benny Törnroos’ Moomin songs are firm favourites with kids. The most popular one is probably Come to Moominvalley! – who doesn’t know its infectious chorus?
